Scholarships Awarded/Amount: 1/$250 (Renewable for up to 4 years if the recipient maintains a 2.5 gpa each semester)
Special Eligibility Requirements: The scholarship will be given to an individual whose main source of family income is earned from a family farm operation.  The recipient should come from a family that exemplifies good family farming and soil conservation practices.  A student who participates in community, school and family activities will be heavily considered.  Such activities may include, but are not limited to, the following:  Farm Bureau, Home Extension, Sabetha Farmers COOP Elevator, Cattle/hog Associations, and Wildlife Management.  Student activities could include but are not limited to the following:  4-H, FFA, Scouts, music or academic organizations.

Wenger Manufacturing Scholarship

Purpose: Today in America, industry outsourcing to foreign countries has become the trend. We at Wenger would like to do our part to keep good jobs in our hometown and keep our community strong and thriving.Wenger Mfg is looking to the future by sponsoring a Scholarship Program to encourage graduates to pursue a career in Machining.

Scholarships Awarded/Amount: Approximately $3500 (Wenger will provide the entire cost of the tuition, books, materials and tooling.)
Special Eligibility Requirements:

Scholarship Applicants will need to successfully complete the following items to be selected for the program:

● Complete Wenger Mfg Employment Application

● Interview with Wenger Management

● Complete Pre-Employment Test/Drug Screen @ Sabetha Community Hospital

● Complete Financial Aid Forms or Parental/Self Support for Living expenses

● Complete Entrance Test @ Kaw Area Technical School
Wenger will also provide part-time work for eligible students during summer and winter class breaks to acclimate the student to the Machining Career. Wenger encourages scholarship recipients to seek full-time employment at Wenger for a minimum of two years upon completion of their education. This employment would be on the Night shift and would include the current shift incentive of $5/hour.

Course Description:

Wenger has partnered with Kaw Area Technical School in Topeka, which has a well-known Machine Technology program. The basic information on the Machine Tech program is as follows:

● 9 month course – start in January (with summer off) and graduate in December
or start in August and graduate in May.

● 6 hour class day –from 8 AM to 3 PM with an hour for lunch. 1080 class
hours to graduate.

● Total cost for the 9 month course is $3500, including tuition, books, materials and
tooling.

● There is a math and reading aptitude test that must be passed to qualify for the
program.
